Sublime Burmese seated Buddha. Large at 16.5" tall, the base measures 8" x 5.5"
Exceptional condition. Best of its type I have had in more than 10 years. Note the writing on both the front and back of the base. This type, with the rounded finial, is sometimes referred to as a "Lotus Buddha". These are considered to protect the home- especially from fire. The face suggests that this made by Mon people, though it also has strong Shan influence.
