Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
This is a fantastic Sino- Tibetan Buddhist bronze. It actually appears to be cast from a very high copper content alloy, and then richly gilded with a very high quality gilding. An authority on Sino-Tibetan art was fairly certain that it was created in the period 1650-1700. It has been part of my personal collection, but I have been selling off some of my S.E. Asian items to raise funds for a large purchase. This is of such high quality and beauty that I suspect that it may have been made in one of the royal foundaries. Some loss to the gilding, but overall in good condition. This is far superior to Tibetan pieces typically found on Ebay. Stands 3 and a half inches tall.
