Gilt-bronze Sculpture, China, Wanli period (1563-1620), seated figure of Guanyin, with traces of gilt to the body, carved characters in Chinese to the back, which reads "Wuxu nian jiazi yue shisi ri, shan ren Li Kuan qi Shang shi," (equivalent to 1598, dedicated to Li Kuan's wife Ms. Shang), ht. 15 5/8". Base is approximately 7.5" x 9"
