Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Very good large 18thC Tibetan Repousse Monk. Impressive at 15" tall, 9.75" wide, 5.5" deep. Purchased by the previous owner from the highly respected Nagel Auction House in Germany. Head is a bit loose, and right now I have a plastic shim holding it in place. It is not broken, as the head was originally separately sculpted (as is typical on this type of piece). Needs a few tiny screws or other way to snug up the head.
Base re-sealed with wood. Very sweet face, and wonderful feel to this substantial Tibetan sculpture.
