Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Very rare Mongolian figure. Sculpted out of medicinal herbs covered by a lacquer shell. The condition is remarkable for such a fragile 18/19thC piece. The only damage is to the figures he is standing on on top of the base. Figure is perfect, with original patina. There is something very compelling about him- This very special fellow stands 7.5" tall, and is enclosed in a box that measures 9" x 6.5" x 3.25". Extremely light weight. Not inexpensive.
