Burmese Buddhist Kammawa-sa Manuscript. Mandalay Period, 19th century, a gilt and lacquered palm leaf scriptural book written in Pali, consisting of 14 text pages and two carved board covers with additional inlaid glass embellishments. 25.25 x 6.5 in. Beautiful! One of the covers and one of the pages are photographed in detail. The pictures of what looks like one of the pages is actually the back side of the wood cover. The pictures with black writing display both sides of one page. The other cover and 13 pages are packed away-they are all of the same condition, quality, intricacy and beauty as these are. Never seen one nicer. Extremely rare- the majority of these sets have been split up, with each page sold (framed) for several hundred dollars.
