Excellent 19thC Burmese "lotus" Buddha. This type was considered to provide protection- especially from fire. Note the underside with stylized sea creatures. Some cracks to the wood, and losses to the gilding and lacquer, but otherwise in good condition. From a solid piece of teak. The raised inscription on the front and rear of the base are an unusual feature. Large at 15" tall, bottom is 10.25" x 7.75"
