This is a spectacular 17/18thC Laos Bronze Buddha: it has one of the most memorable Buddha faces you are likely to encounter. He has a wide, almost maniacal smile, and intense eyes (replaced in modern times). The size is very good at 13 inches tall by 7 inches wide at the knees: I put a 6 inch Tibetan bronze in one photo to give a perspective on his good size. He is larger than the height suggests as he has an extremely short base. The casting and finishing are very good-look closely at the details-the separately finely cast finial, the beautiful sash on the robe, and the detail in the hands and feet, and face and hair. The patina is also quite exceptional, as can be seen in the pictures. He is currently listed on Ebay.
