Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Fine and Rare Antique Mongolian Thangka. It depicts a fierce form of Jambala holding what represents a baby. I believe this type of Thangka was prayed to when trying to conceive. Fine condition- clearly spent its life behind glass. Collected in the 1990's in Mongolia by the previous owner-purchased from a private museum in Mongolia which was closing. Very good size for this type at 13.5" x 10.25".
