This is an exquisite large and very early Laos Bronze Buddha. It has a face and casting quality strongly influenced by the Chiang Sien Thai style, and is sometimes referred to as "Chiang Sien Lao" It is very large: The Buddha stands close to 17 inches tall by 11 inches wide at the knees. The original base was long ago removed and the tip of the finial was probably longer.(this seems fairly common or early Thai and Laos Buddhas: my guess is that the bronze was re-used) I put a 6 inch Tibetan piece in one pho
