This is the most finely carved and finished stone Thai Buddha I have ever come accross. It is exquisitely carved out of a very hard green river stone. The style is Northern Thai. It has a fantastic serene face. The age is hard to tell for sure: my estimate is 18th to early 20th century. It is not a modern copy. It was originally lacquered and gilded, as can be seen in the photos. It is mounted to a wooden base. The Buddha stands 8 inches high, and a bit over 10 inches including the stand. A very beautiful piece.
