This is a very beautiful Ayuthaya Era Thai Buddha: the face is superb. Much of the original gilding remains, and there is no damage or repair. It may have had a separately cast base: it also may have been cast without one. It stands 8.5 inches tall by 5.5 inches wide at the knees, and weighs 59 ounces. The height does not convery the mass of this piece (he would be closer to 12 inches with a typical Ayuthaya base), so I put a 5 inch 15-17thC Ayuthaya Buddha in one of the photos to give a perspective of it's very nice size. ***I will include the 5 inch Buddha as a bonus to the winning bidder at no additional cost ****.
