19thC Burmese Bronze Buddha. This type was typically put together with other related bronze figures to tell a story from the Buddha's life. This piece tells a complete story on its own (The story of the Buddha sitting up all night under the Bodhi tree. In the morning, he touched the earth as his witness that he had not succumbed to the temptations of Mara). 5.25" tall, bottom measures 2-7/8" x 2.25". Very nice face.
