This is one from my personal collection of folk Buddhas: I thought I'd never sell him, but here goes....... He is a remarkable and great piece of folk art: both naive and sophisticated at the same time. He had an extensive 9though worn) inscription that completely covers all sides of the base. There are remains of red lacquer on the hair and ears, He has unique pointy hands, prominent nipples, and a distinctive base with little lotus petals. It is, however, his face that makes him stand out: with his wide cheeks and high cheekbones, unusual ears, penetrating eyes, and very unusual finial. You will never see another. He stands 7 inches tall, and weighs 18.8 ounces.
