Special Burmese bead necklace. Comprises a variety of early Burmese beads-many of carnelian sculpted in to animals. I purchased these 25 years ago at the Burmese border. Ive seen single beads of this type (especially some of the animal beads) selling for large sums. I've been told that the striped ones are over 1,000 years old, though I do not know how to date these. Necklace has a circumference of approximately 16".
