This is an exquisite Utong C style 14thC Thai Buddha head. It has one of the finest faces I have ever seen on a Buddha of this style: that includes the ones I have seen in museums and books. It is a nice size at over 5 inches tall by 7 and 3/4 inches in circumference. This piece has had repairs to the neck, one ear lobe, and the finial. The face is untouched, with an exquisite patina, and the kind of wear that comes from centuries of devotion. The head looks up towards the heavens, It is mounted on a tall modern base that brings the total height to 11 inches
