Large, striking, and very beautiful Nepal/Tibet/Chinese 4 arm Bodhisattva. I am not positive of country of origin, as the construction appears Nepalese, though the style has strong Tibetan influence, and there is a Chinese inscription on the base. It is possible it was made in Tibet by Newari artisans from Nepal. Many Newari sculptors were brought from Nepal to Tibet, as they were renowned as skillful metal sculptors. I believe it is probably circa 1800 based on related pieces I have seen. During that period Tibet and China were closely associated, and many Tibetan pieces ended up in China. Due to the very large size (more than 2 feet tall!), high quality, and excellent condition, the price is not inexpensive. 26" tall. Fabulous!
