This is a wonderful, very beautiful and large Northern Thai or Laos standing bronze Buddha from the late Ayuthaya period. It stands a full 32 inches to the top of the separately cast finial, and is 9 inches in circumference at the base. I put a 7.25 inch Buddha in one photo to give a perspective of the great size of this Buddha. Please email if you are outside the USA, as some countries have size restrictions on shipping through regular mail that may require special arrangements. There are remnants of glass inlay on the base, and traces of lacquer in a few spots including the fingers and hair. The condition is exceptional, with no losses or repairs. There is some minor (expectable) wear and corrosion, and a few minor scratches on one of the arms. It is in the calming the waters" or "no fear" mudra. The face is serene and gentle: it looks to be strongly influenced by Laos Buddhist art. This is a very special Buddha.
