Solid Cast Very Large Japanese Baby Buddha. Stands an impressive 24" tall (total height including the base). I've had many 4,6, 10, and even 12 inch examples, but this one dwarfs them all. Beautifully sculpted, with a beautiful patina. Probably Edo periodm, though the face is earlier. I've been told that this type wass popular in the 16/17th centuries, though I have found no comparables yet to compare it to. Amazingly heavy. A very special Buddha which would have resided in a temple.
