This is a special item: it is an extremely heavily cast late or post Pagan stele with stories of the Buddhas life. It is done in deep relief in a manner unlike any other piece ii have owned. It is hard to date this precisely, as it is provincially cast: I believe that is from the late or Post Pagan period of the 13/14th centuries, although it could be later. I have no doubt that it is truly old and guarantee that it is an authentic antique. Many of the details and faces of the stories surrounding the Buddha are unclear or not fully formed. The central Buddha, however, is wonderful. It has good wear to the high points, as can be seen in the photos. The size is very good at 8 inches tall by 6.5 inches wide, and it is 2 inches deep in some points. It weighs an astonishing 153 ounces. It stands on its own, although it would look great framed or on an easel
