This is a thickly cast all silver Thai Buddha (18/19th century) with semi-precious stone eyes. It is an especially beautiful Buddha and is unusual in this good size. Originally he probably had an elaborate base which was also made of silver which was probably long ago cut away and melted down (sadly this was not uncommon). He sits 8 inches tall, and would have been well over 12 inches with his base. He is quite heavy at over 50 ounces; some of that is clay core, but most of it is silver. Original inset stone eyes. An outstand and strikingly powerful Buddha
