Country Group: South and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam)
This is an old Burmese Buddhist Shan style Temple textile. It has a Buddha in the center I don't know much it: I assume it is early/mid 20th century and painted on cotton. This is a very sweet fellow, and unlike any other piece of this type I have seen. It is a good size at 18 by 21.5 inches. I've seen these go for extremely high prices: I bought a group of them on the Burmese border many years ago and have had them put away. I still see them, but not of this quality and beauty any more
