Well cast 8/9thC Prakhon Chai style bronze Buddha. Does not appear to be a period piece. Still, an unusually nice example of its type. I'm thinking it is 20th century because of the look of the underside, though it is possible it was filled later in order to stablize (solid cast figure is heavy for its size). Purchased from a French collection- I believe it was collected by the previous owner in the 1960's or 70's. Very good size at 14 7/8" including the attached base.
