This is a lovely Quan yin standing serenely with her bottle, with a wonderful little boy next to her standing with his hands together in devotion. The face in the waves is also delightful. The piece is lacquered in black and red. It is beautifully done. I am guessing Meiji and feel that it looks turn of the century, but I do not have much experience with things Japanese, so I am unsure how to date it accurately. A beautiful piece.
