This is a lovely example of the Buddha sitting before the elephant and the monkey: it is a form only found in Thailand, mostly from the 18th to the early 20th centuries. I estimate this one at about 100 years old. It has a wonderful velvety patina and an excellent face. It is a nice size at 8.5 inches tall by 6 inches long and it weighs 4.5 pounds. The elephant has been re-attached. Very beautiful!
