Price reduced! This piece is a beautiful mid 19thC Thai Royal Bronze Buddha from the Ratanakosin period. I bought it at auction; it still had the old tags from the previous owner, with the story of how it was acquired in the 1960's in Thailand (see the photos to read this).It also has their old asking price of 4500 dollars. My opening bid is less than 20% of that. He sits a little over 12 inches tall, but he would have had a separately cast base which would have brought his overall height closer to 16 or 18 inches tall. He has some bent parts as seen in the photos. But otherwise in good condition. He has a power and serenity found in the best of his kind.
