This is a wonderful 15th century Northern Thai Bronze Buddha. I listed this one previously and was quite surprised that he did not sell. I will give him one more chance on Ebay. He is a 17/18thC Large Burmese Bronze Mon Buddha with original attached Buddhist monks attached. He is an extremely uncommon Buddha: in 20 years of collecting this is the only one like it I have encountered. He has a fantastic chocolate brown patina, very good (provincial) casting, excellent (folk) sculpting, and a wonderful overall composition. No repairs or losses. Superb expressive face. Great spiritual art and at the same time extremely fine folk art. Most of the Buddhas of this type you see are Shan or Ava, and the vast majority of those are not as old as they appear. This is the real thing. He is a full twelve inches tall and is 7 inches wide at the monks' heads. You are actually getting 3 figures in this one sculpture Wonderful faces!
