This is a 17/18thC Burmese late Ava Bronze Burmese Buddha. It has traces of gilding. There is wear and abrasion to the surface- my guess is that it was buried, and that someone cleaned away the burial patina to reveal the Buddha beneath. The style of the base is lovely and quite unusual. This kind of Buddha is far less common than the thinner body and face Shan style Burmese Buddhas. Sits 7and 3/8" tall
