Country Group:South and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam)
Item id: 5507

This is a delightful Laos folk style Buddha from the 19th or early 20th century. I believe it was once covered in lacquer, which was removed at one time. It ha a few age splits, but is remarkably good and complete condition. The earlobes appear to be added, but this was probably part of the original construction. These are hard to find with such good carving, such a nice surface, and in such excellent condition. It is a nice size at 9 and 5/8ths inches, a little over 11.75 inches including the attached stand.
