This is a very rare early Mon-style solid cast iron standing Buddha from Burma, probably in the range of 10th to 12th centuries. He is a one-of-a-kind- I've seen related pieces, but never another quite like this. Stands 6.5" tall not including the base. Including the attached modern wood base, the total height is 9 7/8 inches. Great face! Interestingly, Mudra is usually done with the right hand, not with the left as is done with this statue. Very special.
