15/16thc Chinese Baby Buddha taking his first step, and pointing towards the heaven and earth. He stands a substantial 10.25 inches tall, and is heavy for his size. Bottom diameter is 4.5 inches. Very rare and beautiful base, with Nagas holding up the base on which he stands. I've never seen a Ming Buddha with this sort of base before. Loss of one hand- otherwise complete. Wonderfully expressive face.
