Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
This is a very beautiful Medicine Buddha from Tibet or Nepal. It has ritual wear, and is provincial in nature, so it is hard to date precisely. It looks to be 17/18thC. But could be as late as 19thC. The face is quite beautiful, with a deeply serene expression as good as that found on the very finest of Buddhas. This is a personal favorite. It looks to have the original seal. Sits close to 5.5 inches tall.
