This is an extraordinary Northern Thailand or Laos Bronze Buddha from the late 15th to the early 17th century, which has it all- it is early, beautiful, in great condition. It has one of the most benevolent expressions of any Buddha I have had in a very long time. I photographed it to sell over a year ago, but could not bring myself to put it up for sale until today. The patina is chocolate brown. Aside from expected scratching to the patina and the usual minor original casting flaws, the condition is close to perfect. It sits 9.5 inches tall by 6 inches wide at the base, and it is extremely heavy for its size at over 90 ounces. The eyes are inlaid, although the inlay is a modern replacement. This one is special!
