Item id: 5768
Very early, rare, and very beautiful solid cast Burmese Monk, likely from the end of the Pyu/beginning of the Pagan period, and in the range of 1000 years old. This special type has incised eyes that show influence from early Pala. Stands 7 inches tall.
Thank you Denis (a very knowledgeable collector who has a Tara figure with closely related eye treatment that was excavated in the area of Pagan.)
