Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
This is a lovely and authentic 18/19th century Nepalese 8 armed Bodhisattva. There are remains of red devotional powder. The piece has been cleaned, as it was probably thick with gunk and devotional powder to the point where the details were obscured. I purchased this from a gentleman who lived in Nepal with his wife, where they worked on blindness prevention projects. It has a very strong spiritual feeling to it. It is complete, with the mandorla in tact, and all the attributes sand all the fingers on place. It is a very nice size at 10.25 inches tall to the top of the (removable) mandorla. I haven't had one of this type so nice before.
