Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Estimated as 18/19th century. The finishing work leaves it with a rich, glassy smooth finish . The patina is a fantastic rich deep brown. It does not appear to have originally been gilded, but I am not sure of this. It is in excellent condition, with the only damage being one of the posts on one of the feet. It also appears to have originally had a mandorla. It still stands perfectly well on the base, and the missing post cannot be seen when the piece is assembled. The copper plate in the base may have been replaced, and I am unsure whether there are still any contents remaining inside. The figure is solid cast and is quite heavy for his size. The whole piece weighs 77.7 ounces and stands 8 and ¾ inches high, and is 5 and ½ inches wide at the base.
