Early style Chinese Porcelain figure on mythical beast. This piece was examined by an expert in Chinese pottery visiting from China. He indicated that it was from the Ming Dynasty and was uncommon in that it was a ceramic piece rather than a pottery piece. He said that it was fired at a higher temperature, and that this was not typically done during this period with figural pieces, and that he had seen extremely few related pieces. It is extremely well sculpted, and is in good condition. I bought it out of an estate. Has one toe chipped. Size- 10 1/8 inches tall, 8 inches long
