Country Group: South and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam)
From the estate of a wealthy New Yorker, purchased in a high end shop in Bangkok in 1965. Original receipt dates it to 18/19thC, and to be carved out of violet quartz. The color appears to me as a mix of smoke and deep violet, and the material looks to be florite. Appears to be an authentic old piece. From the same collection as items 6118 and 6127 on my site. Large at 8 inches tall, on custom base the height is 9.25 inches.
