Authentic and very beautiful 13-15thC Sukhothai Buddha. Size, including attached base (not removable) is a very impressive 23.5 inches tall, 17.5 inches wide, 10 inches deep. Purchased by the previous owner, who was a founding partner of a large law New York firm in 1961, (certificate/receipt below, with address on Park Avenue)) in a high end antique shop in Bangkok. Original base removed at some time in history when bronze was scarce. I've had many larger high quality Buddha's where this was done- I've been told that the bronze was used to make other Buddha images. Tip of finial bent- all else is near perfect. The cracks are original casting flaws from the original manufacture. The would have been hidden by lacquer and gilding when new. Very rare to find an authentic one of this size, beauty, and quality- especially with documentation from the 1960's. Not inexpensive.
