Country Group: South and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam)
Massive early period (2,000-3,000 B.C.) Ban Chang pot. The size is 12.75 inches tall, top diameter of 10.5 inches. Collected in 1970 shortly after it was unearthed in Eastern Thailand by an American living in Thailand and brought to the USA in 1972, and has remained in storage since (inside retains 1972 Thai newspaper). Rare to find a fully intact unrepaired piece from this early period in near-perfect condition. Still retains burial dirt. Could be cleaned further to reveal a museum-quality example.
