A rare 9/10thC Korean Iron Buddha of the Future sitting in a pensive position with finger to chin. Sitting in a stylized "cave" with a sun halo with sun rays radiating outward. Has old collection/museum numbers on the underside that suggests it went in to the collection in 1919. Sits 8 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide, 1.5 inches deep, and 9.5 inches tall on custom stand. I saw a photo of a very closely related example (also in iron and of similar size), but without the sun rays. The book was in Korean, so I could not read the text, but was told it was dated as 9/10th century. Very few period pieces of this type exist.
