Country Group: South and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam)
This is a very early Burmese piece, from the earliest period of Burmese Buddhism. This piece is either Pyu from the 6/7thcentury, or Mon from the 8/9th century. It is highly uncommon to come accross S.E. Asian Buddhas from such an early date. It has obvious wear and some loss to the base from well over 1,000 years of burial. A bit over 4 inches not including the custom base. The starting price is very low for such an early bronze. The feel of the face is deeply spiritual: it is a piece I have gazed at for long periods of time.
