Fabulous Newari workmanship on this early Nepalese Bodhisattva. A friend of mine received this directly from a Nepalese person who had this on their family’s personal altar for many generations. It is still thickly encrusted with red puja powder. This bronze is Vasudhara, which means 'rich in treasures', she's the wife of Jambhala. She is wonderful- her face is supremely benevolent, loving, and peaceful. She is a personal favorite. She is 7.25 inches tall and quite heavy. Based on comparable pieces I can find in books I am estimating that she is 15th century- please email and let me know if you feel that I am off on the date.
