Authentic 15/16thC Chinese Wood Ming Dynasty Seated Buddha. Large at approximately 32" high. Significant (honest) surface wear as seen in the photos. Possible very old repair to thumbs or ribbons, otherwise no damage or repair. Has graced my front door for almost a decade. It was purchased just over 100 years ago by an (American) family living in China, where they lived in the late 19th/early 20th century as international merchants. It was shipped to the US in the 1930’s where it sat in storage for 70 years until the grandson (now in his 80’s) opened the storage unit and decided to disburse much of the collection.
