Circa 1850- a monk or teacher under a Bodhi tree with 2 monkeys clinging to the base. This is a very uncommon piece- it would have been carried by a traveling monk along with a number of others. He would use them in telling the stories of the Buddha or the Ramakien. Extremely heavy for his size-7 inches tall.
