Deep gaze to this Cambodian/Laos near solid-cast bronze Buddha. Purchased from a French estate, this is one powerful Buddha. Hard to date- likely made some time between the 16th and 18th centuries-possibly earlier. Pierced holes in base and full bat ears are unusual features for a provincial bronze of this type. Great folk art as well as great spiritual art. Just under 7 inches tall, and quite heavy for his size.
