Country Group: South and Southeast Asia (Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam)
This is a very delightful standing Burmese Pagan or Post Pagan solid cast bronze Buddha. The condition, patina, sculpting, and casting are all excellent. The reserve price is quite low for a piece of this type. The hands are curled, as if they originally held something, although this may simply be the style of the mudra. The base appears to have originally gone into something: now it is on a modern base. The bronze measures 5 and 3/8ths inches high: with the modern base he stands 7 inches high. The piece has wear consistent with age, but no losses, damage, or repairs. The back has a bit of residue from (probably) old tape.
