Very singular antique Northern Thai (?) bronze monk holding his stomach with both hands. The year"1821" or a word written a SE Asian language that resembles that year when written out is cast into the front of the base. This is a feature I have not seen on any other monk or Buddha statue from any country at any time, except for some early Hindu statues. Looks to be at least 196 years old. The way he is smiling and leaning back and closing his eyes, he radiates joy and satisfaction. Three inches tall.
