Antique Burmese "Lotus Buddha" made of a mixture of lacquer and ash. This is a type of Buddha found in Burma and occasionally in Thailand. It is almost always found in wood or lacquer. Typically they are considered to protect the home, especially from fire. Often they are put in the center of a bowl of water. Note the sea creatures. Good size at 11 5/8 inches tall.
