Country Group: The Himalayas (Tibet, Nepal, Mongolia and Other)
Shimmering Mongolian Red Hat Lama Tapestry. Machine woven in the 20th century, this is nonetheless a rare, beautiful, and very desirable object. I've only seen two related examples in the past 25 years. When I got this, it was very dark and hard to see the image, and it did not shine at all. I did what I've never done before and had it cleaned, and was blown away when I picked it up--you can see the results below. Size of image is 16 x 20.5 inches.
